We’re excited to announce a few changes to LaunchCode’s upcoming 2025 course and application process!
Our award-winning, proven web development curriculum will now be called Software Development to better reflect the skills and knowledge learners will gain, aligning with what employers are looking for in today's job market. This skill track will continue to be offered in a part-time and full-time format, with options for both virtual and in-person learners in our markets. Software Development will equip LaunchCoders with both front-end and back-end development skills and act as an on-ramp into our Liftoff career coaching and job placement program. Learn more about Liftoff here!
Backed by data, industry experts and survey results, we’re excited to roll out an enhanced Software Development and Data Analysis curriculum in 2025. Over the past year, we’ve enlisted the help of subject matter experts, surveyed employer partners and combed through our recent alumni survey to identify opportunities to improve our curriculum. Download the syllabus to see what learners cover in the new Software Development curriculum.
Not only have we updated the technical modules of our curriculum to ensure LaunchCoders are getting the most in-demand skills possible, we’ve also reframed how LaunchCoders learn and demonstrate the skills taught during and outside of class. The first unit of each course, called Foundations, will now be self-guided, with learning modules and a graded assignment that learners should allocate about 40 hours of time to complete. Successful completion of Foundations is required to begin the next unit, which is instructor-led coursework (either in a virtual or in-person classroom setting depending on your course!).
Our learners are adults with life experience and transferable skills, and we’re confident the enhancements will better align with adult learning needs and give graduates a stronger edge in securing a job after graduation!
We're thrilled to be streamlining our application process by moving to a more centralized system, designed to help applicants better plan future career and life pathways through LaunchCode. In 2025, applicants can submit their application for multiple courses at once, depending on the skilltrack they’re interested in and the course format that best fits their schedule. We’ll have two periods of open enrollment in 2025 – one for Spring classes and one for Fall classes (make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter for enrollment alerts!). Our applicants are busy adults with lots of life responsibilities, and these updates will make it more accessible than ever to evaluate skill track options, apply for a course and jumpstart the journey into the tech workforce!

To sum it up, our goal is to ensure LaunchCoders are not just learning tech skills, but learning what's most relevant to employers in a quickly-evolving tech landscape. The LaunchCode team is continuously working behind the scenes to evaluate and update our application process and programs, and we’re confident the changes coming in 2025 will set our graduates on the path to launch their new career!

If all of the classes are virtual, why can’t I take the class if I’m outside of St. Louis or Kansas City?
For our Spring 2025 courses, we are only enrolling learners from St. Louis and Kansas City into our core programs, including our virtual courses. This is because we aim to place graduates into jobs following the course and most of our company partners are located in the regions we work in and seek local talent.
Depending on demand from our company partners, there are times we offer training programs or opportunities for applicants from other regions. Check our open courses here or sign-up for our newsletter to be alerted of these opportunities.
Why can’t I apply directly to a class like I could before?
For our 2025 course offerings, we’ve centralized our application process so instead of applying to courses directly, our application assesses applicant preferences and matches them with open seats in future courses. This process gives applicants more chances to have their application accepted, allows us to deliver admission decisions on a rolling basis and in turn, allows our applicants to plan ahead.
I’ve already applied to LaunchCode multiple times. Is this application different?
Depending on when you applied in the past, it’s possible our application may look different to you or consist of different components! To learn more about our 2025 course application process, visit this blog post.
Will applying to LaunchCode multiple times increase my chances of getting in?
If you have applied to LaunchCode in the past, we do consider your past applications when making enrollment decisions. Unfortunately, because of class size limitations, we do have applicants who applied multiple times before being accepted into a course! If you have never applied to LaunchCode before but plan on doing so in 2025, we ask that you only submit one application and receive your enrollment decision before submitting another application.
I want to take a course, but I don’t see it listed on the course webpage. When will other courses open up?
All planned courses for 2025 can be found on this blog post, however there is a chance we add additional courses or training opportunities based on employer partner demand. To be alerted of future opportunities, please sign up for our newsletter here.
I don’t want to take classes, I just want to get a job. Can LaunchCode get me a job?
At this time, our job placement services through our Liftoff program are reserved for learners and graduates of LaunchCode’s educational program.
If you are a LaunchCode alumni who graduated more than a year ago, while we cannot offer you our placement services at this time, we encourage you to join our network via the LinkedIn Alumni Group and Facebook Alumni Group. Through these avenues, you can build connections with other LaunchCoders currently working in the industry and gain access to potential opportunities!
