Based in St. Louis, Missouri, LaunchCode offers a part-time SQL server and databases course that is free of charge. LaunchCode uses a unique nonprofit model, earning money from grants, donations and apprenticeship placements for program graduates. The SQL program requires five to 10 hours of work outside of class each week and relies on a flipped classroom model, with students learning new concepts as prep work and classes focusing on problem-solving.
LaunchCode opens the application window for this course a few months before each start date, so keep an eye on the provider’s website or sign up for its newsletter if you’re outside of the application window. This course caters specifically to women and gender-expansive learners.
Our SQL course was analyzed alongside over 6000 accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities across the U.S. and 52 other reputable tech bootcamp providers. The ranking methodologies use data from the National Center for Education Statistics, education providers, and reputable educational and professional organizations. These rankings underwent five rounds of fact-checking as well. According to Forbes, only 7% of all colleges, universities, and bootcamp providers that Forbes considered were awarded.
