I heard about LaunchCode from June Mercer, a Computer Science professor at the St. Louis Community College — Meramec Campus.
I have 7 years of experience providing customer service in a variety of settings and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science, Database Management, Associate of Arts Degree and Programming Languages Certificate. I love to design and develop software; debug, modify and fix electronics; test and analyze consumer products for my own needs; and read books and articles that relate to science and technology.
The mock interviews are a great opportunity to improve interview skills. It has greatly improved my confidence and set the foundation for real job interviews.

My new workplace is great, with very friendly coworkers. I have a challenging position working independently with a remote team with minimal oversight, which requires huge self-motivation.
My key responsibilities at my new job are to debug, support and develop both customized and reusable code for the current mobile web application, as well as new mobile application code from specifications. I also develop reusable objects based on company security standards and best practices. I also work with QA partners to review test cases and automated test plans.
It's critical to engage in an environment where you can meet people who share the same passion for programming, to learn and ask questions. LaunchCode provides this environment.
For me, programming is a journey and a passion because it is fun, magical and powerful. It helps me solve many daily problems. Programming is not easy — it involves a lot of practice, problem-solving and frustration when your solution fails. I would like to say thanks to Paul Matthews, Adam Wilson, Sally Steuterman, Kari Eckelkamp and many other LaunchCoders who helped me in this journey.
