We are thrilled to announce Tasmyn Scarl as LaunchCode’s new Chief Executive Officer!

Tasmyn (pronounced tAHs-min) was appointed CEO by the LaunchCode Board of Advisors after an extensive national search by Morten Group and a competitive selection process. As the former executive director of the Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis, Tasmyn brings more than twenty-five years of nonprofit leadership experience and a passion for creating STEM opportunities for all. 

“The passion and commitment of the LaunchCode team, along with the provision of resources and support, affirmed for me that LaunchCode is the perfect next step in my career,” said Tasmyn Scarl, newly-appointed LaunchCode CEO. “I’m truly impressed with how much impact the organization has made in its relatively short existence and I’m excited to lead the team into LaunchCode’s second decade of growth."

As Tasmyn joins the team, the LaunchCode staff is saying goodbye to Interim Executive Director Sarah Mayer. We thank Sarah for her leadership, and although it will not be in an official capacity, Sarah will continue to support the LaunchCode mission.

Scarl joins the organization at an exciting time, as LaunchCode is celebrating its 10 year anniversary in 2023. In the coming weeks, Saint Louis University Urban Planning and Development program will release a report revealing LaunchCode graduates and programs have “triggered almost $168.2 million in metro-wide economic activity per average year” since inception. The future is bright and we’re excited to have Tasmyn lead us into the next phase of growth and innovation!
